Abstract:Zhaoqing Temple in the West Lake of the Southern Song Dynasty is a precious site of ancient Chinese temple architecture. As an important carrier of Buddhist culture in the Southern Song Dynasty, it contains rich historical and artistic value. With the help of historical documents, this paper sorts out the rise and fall of Zhaoqing Temple, and establishes the overall presentation of Zhaoqing Temple in the Southern Song Dynasty by combining architectural relics and field investigation. Comprehensively study the importance and uniqueness of Zhaoqing Temple in terms of its historical evolution, architectural layout, vegetation landscape and garden activities in the Southern Song Dynasty, restore the architectural style and garden landscape of Zhaoqing Temple, and reveal the temple’s gardening methods, so as to promote the in-depth development of garden studies in the Southern Song Dynasty and provide references for the protection and research of similar cultural heritage in the future, promote the sustainable development of cultural heritage.
