In recent years, with the concept of sustainable development of heritage continuously empowering world cultural heritage, the sustainable work of garden heritage is also gradually being carried out. Based on this, this paper first first explores the background of traditional protection and revitalization theories, analyzes the limitations of current concepts, and further outlines the development of sustainable development concepts for heritage, providing support for subsequent research. Secondly, the article focuses on the Suzhou garden heritage and London City heritage, with Humble Administrator’s Garden as the main research objects. From two complementary perspectives of individual heritage and overall urban heritage, it delves into the sustainable development methods and strategies of heritage from economic, social, environmental, and cultural perspectives. Furthermore, it divides the existing sustainable concept framework into two levels and summarizes them into a “target system specific strategy support system” Jiangnan garden heritage sustainable development strategy system, providing different perspectives and feasible suggestions for the further protection and revitalization of garden heritage.
