Abstract:The concept of “Park City” is to integrate the idea of “people-centred people-centered” into urban and landscape planning and construction. Studies have confirmed that park green space is closely related to residents’ health and quality of life, and existing planning and government policies are gradually paying attention to the planning and construction of green park space. However, driven by the maximization of commercial and economic interests, new land uses are still mainly commercial and residential land with high economic benefits, and there needs to be a more balanced supply and demand of parkland. At the same time, the government needs a quantitative basis to support the planning of green space distribution. It cannot identify specific areas of uneven supply and demand for planning, regulation, and improvement. Because of the above, this study takes the main urban area of Xi ‘an as the scope, obtains the data information of urban parks and population through big data research, and uses the density analysis based on the administrative division of streets, Spearman rank correlation, and spatial autocorrelation analysis methods with the help of the data analysis and visualization software such as ArcGIS, SPSS, and Geoda. To explore the distribution pattern and relationship between parks and the population in Xi ‘an. The results show that: (1) The population distribution in the study area is heterogeneous, showing a decreasing spatial distribution from the central Ming dynasty city wall and the second Ring Road to the outskirts. (2) There was a significant positive correlation between the park green area and the subdistrict area in the study scope. Still, compared with the per capita park area, there was a large gap among the subdistricts. (3) There was a negative correlation between the distribution of public parks and the distribution of population in the study area, and the distribution of population did not match the distribution of park green space. Based on the above results, it is expected to provide a basis for the planning and construction of parkland in the future to balance the parkland space according to the population distribution, improve the livability of the environment, promote the fair allocation of green space resources, and build a “Park City” green area pattern with the historical, humanistic, and natural characteristics of Xi’an.
