Abstract:In the context of the construction of beautiful villages, some rural areas with abundant tourism resources are committed to introducing leisure tourism to drive rural development. In such villages, public space is undoubtedly the main place to carry tourists’ activities. The two main users of this kind of rural public space are villagers and tourists. taking the Shitang Village in Hengxi Street, Jiangning District, Nanjing City as an example, and from the perspective of both villagers and tourists, uses a certain qualitative and quantitative research method of combining field visits, questionnaires and analytic hierarchy process to conduct Post-Occupancy Evaluation research on their public space. The study found that the villagers and tourists generally rated the public space of Shitang Village high, and there was no public space with a rating of D, and the quality of the public space is not rated below B. due to the different purposes and behavior characteristics of users, villagers and tourists sometimes have different evaluation results for the same public space. Finally, based on the results of the Post-Occupancy Evaluation, the corresponding grading optimization and upgrading strategies for the public space of Shitang Village are proposed, which also provides a theoretical and empirical reference for the planning and development of the public space of leisure and tourism type beautiful countryside.
