The dissertation is the key index for the development of disciplines and evaluation of talent training quality. The quality and quantity of dissertations in landscape architecture grew fast when it was set as a first-level discipline catalogue in 2011. In order to investigate the research hotspots of dissertations in different landscape architecture granted universities, bibliometrics analysis was used to analyze the graduate thesis in landscape architecture collected from 2012 to 2021 in China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI) by CiteSpace software. The perspective of the graduate degree thesis, the research hotspots, trends, and the frontier of landscape architecture subjects were analyzed. These results showed that the number of graduate theses in terms of the doctoral, academic master, and master exhibited increasing trends in the past ten years. There exist differences in research items among the three kinds of graduate degree thesis. In addition, the graduate thesis subjects in landscape architecture are mainly focused on architecture and landscape design. At the same time, the graduate thesis in the master’s mainly emphasizes the application subjects. Finally, some problem-focused suggestions and expectations for future research were put forward.
