Abstract:This thesis is intended to explore the experiment of community gardens on public health promotion in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Firstly, the idea reviews former studies on community gardens and public health, defines relevant concepts, and summarizes the existing research on the health promotion of community gardens; Then, taking the participatory community garden SEEDING action under the epidemic situation as an example, we discussed the health promotion and action methods of different types of community gardens, such as small and micro community gardens participated in by individuals, small and micro community gardens built by communities, and medium and large community gardens designed and constructed by social organizations. From these cases, it was concluded that the natural factors and physical spaces contained in community gardens, gardening behavior, and social networks established in community gardens were the keys to promoting health.
