As a model for the protection and utilization of rural landscapes in Europe and even the world, the planning system of a rural landscape in Britain has become mature after a long time of exploration and development. Drawing lessons from its excellent experience in planning policy and management systems is of positive significance to the protection and construction of rural landscapes in China. Therefore, this paper systematically expounds on the evolution and characteristics of policies, regulations and management systems of a rural landscape in Britain from the time dimension and summarizes its characteristic practices and excellent experience in rural landscape protection. Then combined with the development of China’s rural landscape planning policy and the problems faced by rural construction, put forward the rural construction of China under the background of rural revitalization inspiration and suggestions. That is to give full play to the role of the landscape planning system to protect rural landscape characteristics, improve rural landscape laws and regulations and supervision and evaluation mechanisms, improve the bottom-up management system and encourage public participation.
