Rosa chinensis is a famous traditional Chinese flower. It has a long history of cultivation and has many varieties. Its flower color is bright and has high ornamental value. Taking the design of Rose Garden of Donghe Jiugu Happy Farm in Chongming as an example, referring to the design principles and surrounding construction environment of the special garden, this paper mainly discusses how to organize reasonable landscape architecture to create plant space according to local conditions by introducing varies Rosa chinensis cultivars and using flower sea, flower gallery, flower pillar and other design forms. At the same time, the key points for attention in the cultivation and maintenance of Rosa chinensis and how to build rose garden for tourists in suburban rural areas on the premise of ensuring the growth of Rosa chinensis were elaborated.
