Urban waterfront space is an important public space resource of a city. Under the concept of People's City, the best space resource of the city should be transformed into a space which meets the people's growing needs for a better life. Taking the renewal of the West Bank of Shanghai as an example, applying the theory of space production and analyzing the mechanism of the coordinated production of waterfront growth space by multiple subjects show its necessity. Among them, the spatial representation level produced by the government, the spatial practice content produced by the developers who use the logic of capital circulation, and the reproduction space produced by the public users' behavior are the composite of the three spaces.Perception,Fiction and Experience coordinate with each other which promotes the growth of the entire waterfront space production mechanism, and also provides a reference for the transformation of urban waterfront space.
