Abstract:With the construction of numbers of water conservancy projects, the water level decline zone's ecological problems are becoming more and more dangerous, which arouses the concern of scholars in China and the international worldwide. As China's largest water conservancy project, the Three Gorges Dam has dramatically changed the Yangtze River's normal water level rhythm, forming a vertical drop of up to 30 m on both sides of the Yangtze River. The gradient change of water level has a signi cant impact on the original vegetation communities and habitats in the water-level- uctuation zone, which companied the ecological environment problems. Research on the water-level- uctuation zone's comprehensive management project in the Nanan District of Chongqing analyzes the change of water level gradient and the current vegetation type belonging to each water level. Meanwhile, it explains the principle of vegetation landscape restoration under the water-level- uctuation zone. Finally, it put forward three strategies for the recovery of vegetation landscape in the uctuation area based on the change of water level gradient, delineating the functional vegetation area under different water level gradient. To provide a reference for the restoration landscape management of vegetation in mountain cities through the ecological restoration of the project and the experience of vegetation creation.
