Abstract:As an essential green infrastructure, urban green space has critical ecological functions in improving the urban ecological environment, reducing the urban heat island effect, and adjusting the urban ecological balance. The enhancement of sponge functions such as "seepage, retention, storage, and puri cation" should be coordinated with the dominant services of urban green space types. Based on the functional differences of the urban green space types of the smallest water catchment unit in cities such as "seepage, retention, storage, and netting", this paper analyzes the relevant data of the National Bureau of Statistics on urbanization, green space, sewage, drainage and other sponge cities in the past 15 years. By analyzing the research and practice of foreign developed cities in lowimpact development technology, it proposed to divide urban green space into two major categories and implement a smart storm runoff management and control strategy to improve the greenspaces sponge functions.
