Nanjing modern garden is a signi cant transition period in the history of Nanjing garden, which has both regional and historical characteristics. Through literature review and field research, this paper combs out the types and representatives of Modern Gardens in Nanjing from 1840 to 1949, combined with the modern Nanjing natural landscape pattern and social, humanistic environment, analyzes and summarizes the functional connotation and the evolution of art forms presented by Nanjing's modern private gardens and public gardens at different stages of development. Fromabove, this article also explores the relationship between its source and  ow. Then through the analysis of typical cases, the study of Nanjing modern garden site layout, Rockery-Pile and Water-Scenery-Building, buildingsorganizationwithgardenlayout, planting, and other design techniques and characteristics.
