The technique of stacking rock mountains in Qiyuan in Jiaxing City is far different from that in Suzhou City and other places that changed dramatically in the late Ming Dynasty. Therefore, it keeps both the appreciation taste of stacking rock mountains (Shifeng) in the early and middle Ming Dynasty. The change of appreciation way was caused by the change of techniques of stacking rock mountains (mountain situation) in the late Ming Dynasty. Studying the mountain-stacking style of Ming Dynasty is helpful for us to change our previous impression of the skill of mountain-staking style of private gardens in Jiangnan. This study provides an example for comparing the patterns and skills of staking skills of rocky mountain between early and middle Ming Dynasty stone-folding (part of Qiyuan) and later period (most of the existing gardens in Jiangnan).
