The rural settlement landscape bears the weight of the traditional way of life and profound cultural tradition. Due to the multi-ethnic habitat and unique natural environment, the rural settlement landscape in Southeast Chongqing has unique regional characteristics. Taking the protection and development of rural settlement landscape in Southeast Chongqing as an example, this paper puts forward two patterns of protection of as the in situ preservation and the ex situ preservation.
