As one of the four most famous gardens in the south region of the Yangtze river, Zhanyuan garden is one of the oldest Chinese traditional garden in Nanjing. Its exquisite layout and structure make it a typical representative of excellent traditional gardens. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of modern tourism, the renovation of Zhanyuan garden is also of great signi cance. By analyzing the history, the spatial layout and the construction characteristics of of Zhanyuan garden, this paper presents its exquisite gardening techniques and unique fasination, aiming at making contributions to the development and protection of Chinese traditional gardens.
