Abstract:To facilitate the transformation of Liuhezhuang Forest Farm in Daxing District, Beijing, into an ecological suburban park and scientifi cally quantify quantify the aesthetic quality of its plant landscapes scientifi cally, this study conducted a systematic evaluation of fi fty-fi ve sample plots within the forest farm utilizing the Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) method and the Semantic Diff erential (SD) method. The fi ndings revealed that: (1) The overall SBE values of the plant landscapes ranged from -1.780 to 1.929, which could be categorized into three scenic beauty tiers: high (32.7%), medium (45.5%), and low (21.8%). The points of high scenic beauty were predominantly located in the central viewing area and wetland plant landscape belt, while the points of low scenic beauty were situated at the periphery of the ecological conservation zone and the scientifi c research experimental area. (2) The SD method evaluation indicated that landscape prominence(1.82) and vegetation coverage(1.70) obtained the highest scores, refl ecting the basic ecological advantages of the forest farm, while color richness (-0.41) and artistic conception beauty(-0.65) got the lowest scores, which were the core shortcomings restricting the improvement of landscape aesthetic quality. (3) Correlation and regression analysis confi rmed that the sense of landscape order (r=0.441, p<0.01) was the core factor aff ecting landscape aesthetic quality, and the regression equation between this factor and SBE value had a coeffi cient of determination R2=0.194 (p<0.01). The fi ndings of this study can provide a scientifi c basis for precise landscape improvement at Liuhezhuang Forest Farm and for the transformation and development of similar forest farms in northern China.
